Appearance: Lovely deepish yellow colour but little mousse
Nose: Delightful biscuity brioche with hints of herbs and spices with a suggestion of the sweet and sour character of original, old fashioned Cox’s Orange Pippin apples.
Taste: Full flavour following the nose. Biscuity, herby, spicy with a long finish. Great balance of grapey sweetness and apple acidity (Cox’s again!), A fine dry wine probably better than many champagnes.
Please note that Geoff wrote this before this fantastic sparkling wine beat the champagnes in the blind tasting. Congratulations, Geoff, you know your wine! read about it here: The Telegraph Wine Review
